Fir & Spruce Diffuser Blend

Fir & Spruce Diffuser Blend

We recently took a road trip (practicing social distancing and wearing masks) and drove through the mountains in northern Idaho on the way home. The smell was absolutely intoxicating. It was a warm evening, the windows were down, and it was as if you were putting your nose right into a conifer. It was enjoyed by all of us, including our two kids, who couldn't stop saying how wonderful it smelled. Of course, I had the thought that I wanted to bottle up that amazing aroma. While that's not entirely possible, this recipe comes pretty close! I hope you'll try it and find a little relaxation the next time you turn your diffuser on.

2 drops black spruce (Pinea mariana)
2 drops pine scots (Pinus sylvestris)
1 drop balsam fir (Abies balsamea)

Conifer oils are definitely some of my favorites. Pineaceae (pine family) essential oils are woody and earthy. They are cleansing and expansive oils that are great to utilize in times of mental or emotional fatigue (like during a quarantine!). While I suggest you get yourself into a forest to breathe in some fresh air, this blend is a nice substitute when that's not an option. Enjoy!

Uplifting Rosemary Citrus Diffuser Blend

Uplifting Rosemary Citrus Diffuser Blend
The rosemary in our garden seems to get bigger by the day! Its fresh and herbaceous aroma make it a favorite of mine, and it's obviously convenient when I need a few sprigs while cooking. I also add fresh rosemary to our Four Thieves Vinegar, which we try to have on hand all year round.

There are several different varieties of rosemary (technically chemotypes) when it comes to essential oils. Today we're talking specifically about Rosmarinus officinalis, which is native to the Mediterranean. It's been associated with memory since the times of the Egyptians and is a favorite when preparing blends to support concentration and focus. Rosemary has a strong aroma, so only a small amount is needed when using it.

This diffuser blend is vibrant, uplifting, and sure to freshen up your living space. Enjoy!

2 drops grapefruit essential oil (Citrus paradisi)
2 drops lemon essential oil (Citrus limon)
1 drop rosemary essential oil (Rosmarinus officinalis)

Nighttime Diffuser Blends For Adults and Children

Nighttime Diffuser Blends For Adults and Children
I'm not one to run the diffuser every night at bedtime, for myself or my kids, but I do break it out when one of us (or all of us!) need some help unwinding to fall asleep. The electric diffuser is a great option any time of day when emotions or energy levels need a gentle adjustment. Continue reading
